Follow-up
Follow-up email when nobody replies
No reply is the normal state of inbox work. A follow-up email is how you stay in the thread without pretending you have new news. Email tracking does not replace that note. It only changes when you might send it.
Write the note you would write anyway
One short paragraph: the ask, the deadline if there is one, and an easy yes. Do not narrate that a circle turned blue. Recipients who block images never owe you an explanation. If you use SentCue Email Tracking, keep the reminder on this device and send from Gmail as usual.
How a signal should change timing
If you see activity after Undo, you may follow up sooner — the mail at least reached a client that loads images. If you see waiting, do not wait forever. Pick a calendar date. A quiet circle can mean blocked images, a phone preview, or a person who read the text offline.
A blue circle means that an activity signal was detected. It does not guarantee that the recipient read the message.
Two or three notes, then stop
A second follow-up a week later is ordinary. A fourth “just bumping this” is noise. If the thread is a proposal, see when to follow up after a proposal. If you need sequences and lists, you need a different product.
What this Chrome extension will not do
It will not draft the follow-up for you in this version. It will not run on iOS or Android Gmail. It will not tell you which person in a group loaded the image. Those are suite features. Compare: SentCue vs Mailtrack.
