How to track emails you send
People search “how to know if someone read your message.” No image-based email tracking tool can prove a named person read the mail, and a blue circle is not a message-read event. You can still use tracking emails as a follow-up cue.
When tracking emails helps
- A proposal or quote where timing matters
- Sales email tracking for one conversation, not a campaign builder
- Job applications and client follow-ups
What to do in practice
- Install the Chrome extension and pin it. Guide: Get started.
- Enable detection, send the message, wait out Gmail Undo (30 seconds).
- If you see an activity signal, decide whether to follow up. If you see waiting, do not assume the mail was ignored — images may be blocked.
- Use History for reminders on this browser.
Email tracking software of this kind is a small image in supported outgoing mail. Proxies and scanners can load it. Activity signals detected. Automated loads are filtered. Signals are not proof that a person read the message.
