A Mailtrack alternative for one-thread follow-ups
People search for a Mailtrack alternative when they want a cue after Send without installing a sales suite. Mailtrack by Mailsuite is a capable Gmail tracker with campaigns, mail merge, and cloud history. SentCue Email Tracking is not a clone. It is a Chrome extension for mail you already write.
Checked against mailtrack.io on 13 September 2026. We do not invent their prices or user counts. See the side-by-side: SentCue vs Mailtrack.
When this alternative fits
You send a proposal, an intro, or a client note. You want to know whether the tracking image was requested, then remind yourself on this computer if nothing happens. You do not want a SentCue login, a Google OAuth screen for this product, or a promotional line at the bottom of the email.
You will not get iOS or Android Gmail apps, a shared team dashboard, or “who opened the group email.” Those are suite features. Mailtrack advertises them. This version of Email Tracking does not.
What “alternative” does not mean
It does not mean SentCue is secretly the same tracker with a different logo. It does not mean Mailtrack is dishonest. It does not mean activity is proof that a person read the message. Image proxies still exist. A blue circle means that an activity signal was detected. It does not guarantee that the recipient read the message.
Privacy as a reason to choose
Subject, recipients, and message content stay in Gmail and in this Chrome profile. The pixel host sees a random id and timestamps. That is the privacy-first email tracker story — a reason to pick SentCue after you already want the follow-up cue, not the first sentence on the homepage. Detail: what SentCue stores.
How to try it
Add Email Tracking to Chrome, pin it, open Gmail on the web, and send one test to yourself. Tracking stays off until you enable it. If you later need campaigns or the same history on a phone, a suite is the honest next step — not a hidden Pro switch on this page.
